TEL AVIV: Israel based Redefine Meat has raised $135 million to scale up the company’s 3-D printed plant-based steak production and distribution. This brings the company’s total amount raised to $180 million.

Redefine Meat intends to establish a production line in Israel and a production plant in the Netherlands with the new financing round.

The company also aims, to broker new collaborations with additional restaurant chains in and outside of Israel.

Founded in 2018, Redefine Meat uses digital processes and plant-based ingredients to produce high-protein, zero-cholesterol steak alternatives that mimic the taste and texture of traditionally procured meat products.

The company’s products are currently available in approximately 200 Israeli restaurants as well as some restaurants in the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands. Redefine Meat also presently markets its products to the canteens of tech giants like Apple, Facebook, and Google.

In August, they indicated that their products are expected to reach Europe later this year, and the United States and Asia in 2022.
